A Little Bit About Aerospec

Aerospec is based in the South West of Scotland and serves clients throughout Scotland and the North of England. The company started life as a division of an existing industrial inspection consultancy before becoming a stand-alone concern in its own right.

This has allowed the management team to expand the range of services that can be provided using commercial aerial platforms and specialist camera systems, offering client’s economic, safe and effective alternatives for gaining that elusive or impossible view from above.

In the past an aerial photo or video was usually only possible by means of aircraft charter (helicopter or fixed wing), balloons, scaffold towers or cranes with man baskets.

All of these options were expensive, time consuming, with significant limitations and, occasionally, not the safest way to achieve the goal. With the development of efficient power sources, robust software and lightweight materials, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, or drone as it is more often known, has come of age and now allows operators to deploy professional grade cameras and other payloads to carry out a multitude of tasks.

Whilst the company employs products from recognised manufacturers, there are times when a bespoke solution is required. In house design and construction allows Aerospec to develop hardware, software and electronic systems that can be integrated with existing platforms or fitted to purpose built aircraft. CNC machining facilities and 3D printing allow fast track development and testing of equipment.
